WCNE 1560 am is a unlicensed low powered broadcast station operating under the part 15 rules of the Federal Communications Commission.
Our transmitter is a F.C.C. Certified Talking House AM Transmitter covering 530 to 1700 khz wich basically means it has passed F.C.C. Testing for legal unlicensed broadcasting. The Talking House transmitter is usually associated with real estate agents, they use the transmitters to sell a home by recording a 2 to 5 minute message into the digital recorder built into the Transmitter then place it in the home and with a sign on the front lawn, prospective buyers can then tune into the transmitter to hear a sales pitch over their car radio.
But the Talking House isn't just for real estate sales anymore.
I Rock as well as other radio hobbyist's have taken advantage of this
easy to use transmitter and set up community broadcast stations serving
1/4 to 2 miles in small towns or used the Talking House to play old
radio shows over antique radio through out the house. The transmitter
sports a line-in rca jack or live connection where a user can connect
a mixing board or Ipod and broadcast almost instantly.
Once you find a clear channel on the dial you just string your antenna
up along the wall, set a channel using the auto-tune function and let
the Talking House tune the antenna for your chosen frequency. Once it
is done tuning your ready to start broadcasting through out the house
or up to 2 miles away. ( range varies )
